About Athena

A master esthetician with 20 years of study and training.

Athena's passion for natural skincare began with childhood visits to Greece to visit her maternal grandmother: gathering herbs, creating healing remedies, and working with the body rather than against it. Monastery is an homage to her heritage. Athena and the team personally source, formulate, and test every product, and we are proud to be a 100% independently owned beauty company.

What goes in the bottle.

We use only the highest quality plant oils and distillations that we have spent months and, in some cases, years sourcing.

    Clary Sage

    Regulates sebum production, tones the skin as a mild astringent and reduces inflammation associated with acne.

    Damask Rose

    This rose has developed its beautifying reputation for having the most powerful, healing and effective oil.

    Grapefruit

    A stimulating oil that improves circulation, fights bacteria and reduces surface oil in oily skin types.

    Raspberry Seed Oil

    A powerhouse antioxidant, full of Alpha Linolenic Acid, that moisturizes and protects the skin.

    Reishi

    Its beta-glucans reduce skin inflammation, puffiness, wrinkles and free radical damage while preventing moisture loss.

    Pink Peppercorn

    Vitamins K and C give antioxidant properties; piperine brings color to the skin and lends a luminous tone.

No fillers.

There is a lot that goes into Monastery and a lot that never will: no salts, no petroleum products, no squalene, no salicylic acid, no tea tree oil, no cinnamon oil and no fillers of any kind.
